This position is full-time and will be based out of Schenectady, NY with hybrid flexibility (up to 20%).\n\nResponsibilities\n\nWork within a project team environment to support construction projects.\n\nDevelop and define project scope with sponsors.\n\nDevelop specifications and cost estimates.\n\nCreate drawing reviews and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects.\n\nOversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates.\n\nCoordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.\n\nRequirements\n\nEducation & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience.\n\nCitizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.\n\nClearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE \"L\" Clearance.\n\nMust have experience performing mechanical engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations and cost estimates.\n\nMust have working knowledge of building codes and standards.\n\nMust have experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFl's, construction inspections, etc.).\n\nDesired Skills\n\nEIT certificate and or P.E. License.\n\nEngineering consulting experience.\n\nWorking knowledge of ASME codes.\n\nWorking knowledge of HVAC systems.\n\nAbout the Site\n\nThe Naval Nuclear Laboratory is comprised of the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, the Kesselring Site, located in West Milton, New York, and the Naval Reactor Facility located in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
