Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide.\n\nHX5 is currently seeking a LabVIEW Software Engineer to join the team with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nThe LabVIEW Software Engineer will:\nDesign and implement software for design, development, test, and certification of flight hardware\nGather and analyze requirements\nDesign and develop data acquisition systems for test rigs\nTest and debug software issues\nCoordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities\nSupport test setup and execution\nDevelop testing and operations documentation\nCoordinate software development with other disciplines\nParticipate in multi-disciplinary technical reviews\nPerform other duties as required\nEducation and Experience\nTypically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a\nrelated area.\nExperience with data acquisition and processing\nExperience with NI LabVIEW for system control, system test, data storage and analysis\nExperience with CompactRIO RT/FPGA platform\nExperience with LabVIEW object Oriented Programming (LVOOP)\nExperience with Git for source code control\nExperience with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment\nExperience with scripting languages such as Python\n\nPreferences\nFamiliarity with NASA/JSC organizations, processes, and procedures\nPrior experience with spaceflight system development\nExperience with system interface requirements\nExperience with common communication protocols (RS232, RS422/485, 1553, USB).\nKnowledge of web application frameworks such as ASP.NET\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:\nThis is a full-time position and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).\nWork Environment:\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nEquipment and Machines - Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).\nPhysical Requirements:\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nOther Position Requirements:\nProof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.\nMust be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
