This role provides knowledgeable assistance in various areas of plant operations and involves decision-making in selecting appropriate manufacturing processes, including tooling, gauging, and workplace layout.\nResponsibilities\nProvide machinery, tooling, material specifications, manufacturing processes, quality inspection documents, and incentive time standards needed for accurate and safe manufacturing of component parts.\nCollaborate with college co-op students and rotating training personnel when applicable.\nOffer day-to-day support for the Production department.\nReduce costs, increase productivity, reduce scrap/re-work, and provide resources for training and problem-solving.\nResearch and develop new manufacturing processes.\nIdentify and submit Value Improvement Process (VIP) opportunities.\nEvaluate Process Improvement Requests (PIR) and Corrective Action Requests (CAR) for incorporation into manufacturing processes.\nMaintain Engineering Change Orders at current revision levels.\nAttend training sessions in specialized subjects.\nMaintain plant and departmental records, including machinery records, component routings, routing files, tooling library files, and quality documents.\nConduct studies and create appropriation requests for capital spending projects, including purchase requisitions and delivery schedules.\nMaintain/establish OMS, Building Materials, Routings, and Costing.\nEssential Skills\nExpertise in manufacturing engineering and process engineering.\nProficiency in layout design and manufacturing processes.\nExperience in cost reduction, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.\nBS Engineering and/or 7+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience.\nSpecialized training in time standards, machine tool programming, statistical process control, computer applications, and workplace safety.\nAdditional Skills & Qualifications\nAbility to collaborate effectively with college co-op students and trainees.\nExperience in maintaining detailed records and documentation.\nWork Environment\nThe work environment involves active participation in the design, production, and distribution of a full range of lift truck attachments and industrial material handling equipment for the U.S. market. The latest production methods and technology, combined with personnel expertise, enable adaptation to diverse and demanding customer requirements.
