Zero Harm for our employees, Community and Environment are our highest priority.\nPURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:\nThe Controller is responsible for professional and operations accounting functions in accordance with established corporate and site accounting policies and practices and in compliance with GAAP/IFRS in a staged working environment from construction and project phases into mining operations.\nJOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and implement accounting systems.\nSupervise the following administrative and clerical functions:\nPayroll administration\nAccounts payable and receivable\nChecking of accuracy and completeness of repetitive accounting documents\nCoding transactions to appropriate accounts\nReview month-end journal entries, account reconciliation, and preparation and distribution of interim, monthly, and year-to-date business unit/object costs reports, including variance narratives.\nAssist in the preparation and development of financial and job cost analysis reports, annual/short/long term budgets (including Life of Mine), and forecasting - re-forecasting.\nMaintain accounting policy guidelines, procedures, internal control documents, and general ledger interfacing. Revise as appropriate.\nReview and approve bi-weekly payroll. This approval process includes 401(k) distribution, withholdings, wage and salary changes, and garnishments.\nServe as the primary communication link to KGHM’s Finance staff.\nManage Cost and Operations Accounting activities.\nPerform other duties as directed.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.\nMinimum of seven (5) years of demonstrated progressive experience in a professional accounting position, preferably in the mining industry.\nWorking knowledge of budget preparation, payroll, accounts payable, production, and general mine/mill operations accounting procedures.\nWorking knowledge of mining industry accounting policies, procedures, and practices is desirable.\nCompliant knowledge of GAAP/IFRS standards.\nAbility to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:\nMaster’s Degree is desirable.\nTECHNICAL SKILLS:\nAdvanced proficiency in preparing Excel spreadsheets and intermediate WORD proficiency.\nExperience with JDEdwards or other similar ERP systems.\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:\nOccasional, as needed.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAbility to listen to employees’ suggestions and concerns.\nResponsible for communicating goals and information to the Finance department.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and lead the Finance team.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nSedentary: Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
