This leader will work closely with teachers, administrators, and instructional teams to develop a strong, aligned system of mathematics instruction centered on high-impact teaching strategies, student discourse, problem-solving, and the implementation of Illustrative Mathematics (IM).Position SummaryThe 6-12 Math Coordinator serves as the instructional lead for district-wide secondary mathematics efforts. This role focuses on ensuring alignment, coherence, equity, and excellence in mathematics instruction across grades 6-12. The coordinator will lead the implementation of Illustrative Mathematics while building upon and extending the high-impact instructional practices established through Bridges Mathematics in grades K-5.This individual will orchestrate systems of support for mathematics instruction through professional development, coaching, modeling, collaborative planning, and data-driven instructional practices. The coordinator will help create consistent experiences for students while supporting educators in strengthening instructional delivery, classroom discussion, mathematical thinking, and formative assessment practices.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & CoordinationFacilitate and lead the implementation of a comprehensive 6-12 mathematics continuum aligned with district goals, Wisconsin Mathematics Standards, and Illustrative Mathematics instructional practices.Serve as a mathematics thought partner for staff and administration, helping guide vision, instructional coherence, and system-wide implementation.Lead the coordination and implementation of Illustrative Mathematics (IM) across grades 6-12, ensuring alignment with district instructional expectations and high-impact teaching strategies.Build systems and structures that support consistent mathematics instruction, intervention practices, collaborative team processes, and continuous improvement.Support the alignment of K-12 mathematics practices to ensure students experience a cohesive instructional journey from Bridges Mathematics in elementary school through secondary mathematics coursework.Professional Development & CoachingDesign and deliver high-quality professional development focused on evidence-based mathematics instruction, problem-based learning, mathematical discourse, formative assessment, and visible learning practices.Collaborate with building leaders and instructional teams to support the development of school-wide and classroom-level mathematics practices.Support ongoing development of educators' instructional capacity through job-embedded coaching, modeling lessons, co-planning, observation feedback cycles, and collaborative reflection.Model high-impact mathematics instructional strategies that increase student engagement, reasoning, productive struggle, and opportunities for student discourse.Support teachers in implementing instructional routines and practices embedded within Illustrative Mathematics while maintaining alignment to district instructional expectations.Collaboration & SupportPartner with district and school-level leadership teams to monitor mathematics goals, student growth, and instructional implementation.Collaborate with collaborative teams (CTs) and educators to analyze student learning evidence and make informed instructional decisions.Support the development of systems that strengthen Tier 1 mathematics instruction and intervention practices for all learners.Analyze and use mathematics data to support informed instructional decision-making and equitable outcomes for students.Work alongside teachers and leaders to foster classrooms where students confidently explain thinking, solve complex problems, and engage deeply in mathematical learning.Required Qualifications Current Wisconsin DPI Mathematics License and/or administrative licensure preferred.Proven knowledge and application of effective mathematics instruction in grades 6-12, including problem-based learning, mathematical discourse, and intervention practices.Strong understanding of adult learning theory and professional development delivery.Experience in instructional coaching, facilitation, and leadership in mathematics development.Ability to build trusting relationships and lead through collaboration and influence.Preferred Qualifications Experience with Illustrative Mathematics (IM) implementation and/or Bridges Mathematics.Familiarity with Visible Learning, Building Thinking Classrooms, formative assessment practices, and instructional coaching models.Experience leading systems-level instructional implementation and collaborative team processes.Background in data-driven decision-making and MTSS frameworks.Terms of EmploymentFull-time, 9-month administrative support position.What You'll Bring to North Fond du LacYou'll bring passion, purpose, and a relentless drive to help every student become a confident mathematical thinker and problem solver.
