To learn more, Click here .\nJob Description\n\nPosition Overview:\nFlender, located in Elgin, IL is seeking a qualified and energetic Quality Inspector to focus primarily on its WIND aftermarket and secondary focus on its Industrial drives organization. The Inspector performs the inspection of mechanical components for industrial gear units, specifically components from dis-assembled units in preparation for rebuild/service for Wind Turbine and Industry unit repairs. The Inspector will also perform in process and final inspections of finished units along with ability to assist on incoming goods inspections.\nDuties will also include supporting projects and initiatives to ensure optimal plant performance, efficiency, and safety.\nResponsibilities:\nMajor Duties - Drive competencies in the following areas:\nPerform inspection on main components of gearboxes and drive units.\nDefine damages on the inspected parts to give the proper disposition.\nGather detailed evidence of the damages to justify disposition.\nPerform and interpret dimensional inspection reports.\nCreation of formal inspection reports documenting the inspection findings.\nHandle of specific software used for QA purposes.\nParticipates in problem solving to improve efficiency of inspections.\nContributes to the goal setting for specific projects, as required.\nMaintain documentation compliant with the ISO regulations.\nSupport to production in Quality related issues.\nManage priorities in order to meet business needs.\nMinor Duties:\nConfer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating and other process procedures, assist in resolving system malfunctions, or provide technical information.\nParticipate in research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.\nRequired and Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:\n\nExperience working with cranes and focus on safe work practices.\nStrong organizational skills\nPossess a mid level technical knowledge and assembly with Gear Drives (Winergy and / or Multi-Brand)\nAbility to analyze customer’s technical specifications, mechanical drawings, dimensional tolerancing and data comprehension.\nExcellent team player with ability to work independently and perform and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.\nExcellent communications skills to effectively and accurately communicate with internal and external customers.\nProficient PC skills including Microsoft Office tools, Outlook, SAP (a plus), TeamCenter (a plus).\nSome familiarity with ANSI, ISO, DIN and NEMA standards.\nExperience with NDT Examination especially Dye Penetrant Testing and Ultrasound (UT) (preferred, but not required)\nPosition Description:\nInspect and document mechanical components for primarily Wind and secondary Industrial gear units, specifically components from dis-assembled units in preparation for rebuild/service for Wind Turbine and Industry unit repairs.
