{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d8627f66abe14bdd055f79db","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d8627f66abe14bdd055f79db","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d8627f66abe14bdd055f79db","title":"Mainframe DB2 DBA","description":"Job Description:\nDevelop log scrapring strategies to limit CPU, memory usage and staging space while log scraping.\nBuild Splunk dashboards to monitor the Db2 environment\nWork with other DB2 teams in setting up log retention policies to cover for extended period of outages\nTranslation of business requirements into a physical model for implementation with a focus on a clear understanding of processing requirements (peak times, # trans etc.), performance, availability, recoverability, and data access methods\nConsulting with the application teams on both ACF2 and RACF managed database security to ensure appropriate access is provisioned for data access\nDefining and implementing application specific backup and recovery strategies for the production environment.\nSupport of product upgrades related to DB2 replication providing a focal communication point for development teams as well as completing owned DBA remediation activities, executing internal verification processes, conducting assessments of new feature/function and providing recommendations for use.\nPerformance tuning support and recommendations for database calls, in cooperation with the application development team.\nMonitoring and addressing items on exception reports to ensure a stable production environment\nSupport DBA production on call rotation including 24X7 SEV1 test support.\nConduct information sharing meetings with the application teams when requested.\nSupport of Self-Identified Audits, Control assessments, Database Audits and SOX reviews, ensuring deliverables are complete and correct, and all milestone deliverables dates are met.\nPosition requires in-depth Mainframe DB2 DBA (DB2 on Z/oS) knowledge with a focus on performance tuning.\nIndividual should have minimum of 7-9 years of DB2 DBA experience on z/Os at a single large financial institution.\nJob stability is a key requirement.\nexperience with DB2 Utilities including IBM and BMC\nWorking knowledge of BMC tools including change manager, catalog manager, Main view, and SQL performance.\nSolid understanding of DB2 recovery options\nBroad understanding of ACF2 and RACF2 managed security for DB2 Access.\nWorking knowledge of Endevor\nWorking knowledge of ITSM Processes and tools including BMC Remedy\nJob Type: Contract\nPay: $63.00 -
