Product Designer, Wearables
Meta is seeking a Product Designer to join the Cross-Meta Experiences (XME) team within Instagram, where you'll shape how Instagram shows up across Meta's wearables portfolio - including Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, display glasses, and AR devices. In this role, you will own mobile design end-to-end for Instagram on wearables, contribute to the design vision, and partner closely with teams across Instagram and Wearables. You'll collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality wearables experiences while navigating emerging technology challenges.Minimum Qualifications8+ years of experience in product design, including end-to-end ownership of consumer mobile product areas from concept through launchExperience contributing to design vision and strategy within a product areaExperience working across teams with multiple stakeholdersDemonstrated ability in interaction design, with strong visual and interaction craftExperience using prototyping to express product visions and communicate design directionComfort working in ambiguous environments and driving clarity from undefined challengesPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience designing AI-powered product experiences or prototyping with AI toolsTrack record of contributing to zero-to-one product design efforts that resulted in shipped experiences at scaleDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience designing for small screens or wearable devicesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Familiarity with wearables, AR, or emerging hardware platformsResponsibilitiesOwn wearables mobile design end-to-end, with support for display glasses work as needed, ensuring quality and coherence across the product lifecycleShape on-device experiences across the wearables portfolio, designing features that help people share unique perspectives captured from these new devicesContribute to the design vision for Instagram app experiences on Meta's wearables, translating product opportunities into clear, user-centered solutionsPartner with senior designers and cross-functional stakeholders to align on strategy and build buy-in through storytelling and prototypesNavigate cross-team relationships effectively, collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders across Instagram and WearablesUphold the craft bar for wearables design quality, ensuring work meets Instagram's excellence standardsDevelop high-fidelity prototypes and interactive models to communicate design direction and inform product decisionsLeverage AI tools and workflows to accelerate design exploration, prototype generation, and quality evaluationCollaborate with product management, engineering, and research to define success metrics and iterate on designsContribute to team growth through interviewing, sharing knowledge, and developing shared tools and resourcesAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
