Our projects primarily support seniors and families during major life transitions, where experience and professionalism are essential.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nThis position is best suited for experienced movers, not entry-level candidates.\nYou should already be comfortable with:\nProfessional loading and unloading of moving trucks using safe, efficient techniques and ensuring item protection\nFurniture disassembly/reassembly and protection\nSafe lifting, loading, and unloading practices\nWorking efficiently on deadline-driven moves\nInteracting respectfully with clients in sensitive situations\nAdaptability, reliability, positivity, and a calm demeanor are essential.\nRole Purpose (Why This Role Exists)\nThe Mover supports the safe, efficient, and respectful transport of client belongings during moves, estate liquidations, and downsizing projects. This role exists to ensure items are prepared, loaded, transported, unloaded, and placed with care while providing a calm, professional, and service-oriented experience for clients during often stressful transitions.\nWorking as part of a moving team, the Mover follows project instructions, safety standards, and company procedures while representing The Downsizers’ values and commitment to exceptional client care.\nThis role is also responsible for clearly communicating job completion through same-day project feed updates, including photos, notes, and any required contracts or documentation, to ensure accurate records and smooth follow-through.\nWhy This Role Is Different\nMost of our projects are shuttle-style moves, involving the careful transport and delivery of items to family members, consignment partners, auction destinations, or new locations within senior living communities. Moves often take place in phases and require attention to detail, organization, and clear communication rather than high-speed bulk hauling.\nThis is not standard residential or commercial moving. Our clients rely on us for guidance, care, and confidence during significant life transitions. Preparation, Loading, Transporting, Unloading and Placement\nProperly prepare, wrap, and protect furniture, artwork, appliances, and household items for transport\nThorough prep of project by reading both shift and feed notes prior to arriving on site.\nPack and unpack items carefully to prevent damage or breakage\nLoad items into moving trucks safely and efficiently\nUnload items and place them according to client or on-site direction\nTaking photos of completed projects and posting them to feed with update before leaving project\n2. Move-Day Execution & Client Support\nFollow direction from the floor plan, on-site Project Manager, and/or Team Lead, as needed, remaining willing to make adjustments for client satisfaction during the process\nRespond professionally and respectfully to client questions and concerns\nProvide a high level of service to clients, families, and partners during move days\n3. Safety, Equipment & Vehicle Support\nFollow all safety procedures related to lifting, carrying, loading, and moving items\nAssist with daily and weekly truck maintenance (trash removal daily, fueled as needed, and weekly: supplies organized, safety equipment, tires, and fluids)\nHandle equipment, tools, and vehicles responsibly to prevent damage or injury\n4. Documentation, Communication & Issue Reporting\nCommunicate clearly with team members throughout the move\nSubmit Issue Reports with required details and photos for any damaged items\nMake recommendations for procedure changes to prevent damage or issues in the future\nUse required tools or applications for time reporting and project updates as assigned\n5.
