N921 integrates emerging technology expertise, economic security analysis, mission engineering, and prototype development to help ODNI anticipate strategic disruption, evaluate enterprise risk, and modernize Intelligence Community capabilities.\n\nOur work spans secure prototype development, mission-focused application engineering, technology evaluation, and cross-IC integration. We operate at the intersection of policy, technology, and operations, enabling national-level decision-makers to understand emerging threats and deploy scalable, secure, and mission-aligned solutions.\n\nRoles & Responsibilities:\n\nMITRE is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to support high-priority ODNI initiatives requiring secure, scalable, and mission-driven application development. This role requires an active TS//SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph.\n\nThe selected candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for designing, developing, and deploying full stack applications within highly sensitive Intelligence Community environments. This position supports enterprise-level ODNI challenges related to technology modernization, data integration, analytic enablement, and secure collaboration. Responsibilities include:\n\nServe as technical lead and architectural authority for secure, full stack application development supporting ODNI mission priorities.\nTranslate complex enterprise-level requirements into scalable system designs and implementation roadmaps.\nLead the design and development of secure front-end and back-end architectures within classified environments.\nOversee integration of data services, APIs, and analytic workflows across multiple systems and security domains.\nGuide SecDevOps implementation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to ensure secure, repeatable development and deployment.\nEstablish and enforce coding standards, architecture patterns, and security best practices.\nMentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical rigor and collaborative problem solving.\nPresent architectural approaches, technical tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior ODNI leadership and cross-IC stakeholders.\nSupport transition planning and long-term sustainment strategies in coordination with government and commercial partners.\n\nThe primary responsibilities of this position must be carried out in person in McLean, Virginia or Bethesda, Maryland. The successful candidate will establish regular presence at MITRE and ODNI locations and may be required to travel within the National Capital Region.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nTypically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.\nDemonstrated experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar engineering role in secure environments.\nProficiency in front-end and back-end languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Go.\nProficiency writing SQL queries and understanding database schema design and ETL concepts.\nExperience working in Linux-based environments, including command line and shell scripting..\nExperience working in a cloud-based infrastructure, especially Amazon AWS (C2E on classified fabric)\nExperience with source control, code review practices, and collaborative development workflows.\nMust have an active Top Secret/SCI w/Poly U.S Government issued Security Clearance.
