Whether you are working in public safety, social services, or administration, your contributions will help improve the lives of our residents and build a better future for our county.DescriptionGaston County Public Health is committed to protecting, promoting and preserving the health and well-being of all Gaston County residents.Examples of DutiesThe anticipated hiring range for this position is $20.43 to $23.75.The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.Facilitate Maternal And Child Health (MCH) Support Group Plan, coordinate, and facilitate support groups for pregnant and parenting individuals Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages open discussion Guide conversations on topics such as prenatal/postpartum care, infant health, breastfeeding, mental health, and parenting skills Adapt facilitation style to meet the diverse cultural, linguistic, and social needs of participants Assist clients in understanding and accessing available maternal and child health programs. Guide families through program enrollment processes and coordinate referrals to supportive servicesMCH Programs And Class Facilitation Assist with facilitating childbirth education and Infant CPR classes. Collaborate with health educators and nurses to ensure content accuracy and relevance.Community Engagement Assist with outreach efforts to recruit eligible participants through clinics, community partners, and events Promote support groups via social media, flyers, and community engagement activities Collaborate with MCH programs and partners to increase awareness and participationCollaboration & Team SupportWork closely with MCH staff (WIC, home visiting, care management, etc.) to ensure coordinated careParticipate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunitiesSupport special events (e.g., community baby showers, health fairs, educational workshops)Administrative And Reporting DutiesMaintain accurate records of outreach activities, appointments, and translation services provided.Complete required documentation and reports in accordance with program guidelines.Assist with data collection and evaluation related to service delivery outcomes.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Experience working with maternal and child health programs or public health settings.Additional InformationThe applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.At Gaston County, we are committed to providing equal opportunity to all employees, job applicants, and members of the community we serve.
