The primary responsibility is to design and code instrument interfaces that automate communication between laboratory instruments and our software systems. Onsite technical evaluation is needed to understand how the instruments communicate and to design solutions to automate the communication and the evaluation of the data that is transmitted.\r\nRoles and Responsibilities\r\nEvaluate instrument interfacing specifications using vendor documentation. May require direct communication with vendors and laboratory SMEs to understand the technical requirements.\r\nDesign, code, and unit test instrument interfaces. Interfaces will be built into existing frameworks that utilize object-oriented design principles.\r\nParticipate in the full SLDC. Help to review requirements for completeness and feasibility. Help other team members, such as QA testers, to understand technical specifications that may be needed to perform System or Integration Testing.\r\nReview new and existing modules to ensure optimal performance and stability.\r\nWork directly with the Team Lead, report any issues or delays, and provide recommendations for solutions.\r\nContribute to the team's continuous improvement of processes and procedures.\r\nSkills and Qualifications\r\nEducation Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.\r\nWork Experience\r\nMinimum 7 years of experience in Java software engineering\r\nCommunication: Ability to read and evaluate technical specifications. Ability to write design documentation.
