At United Way of DeKalb County, we work together as a team; therefore, additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the United Way of DeKalb County office at any time.Manage United Way of DeKalb County’s Impact Funding grants to include: ▪ Community Impact & ALICE Grant Management▪ Write grants on behalf of the United Way of DeKalb County▪ Be a grant writing resource for other local non-profitsManage the United Way of DeKalb County Power of the Purse event by:▪ Oversee the planning, implementation and recognition of the Power of the Purse▪ Assist the Executive Director with the management of the Power of the Purse dollars▪ Securing sponsorships for special events▪ Oversee Volunteer engagement and management for Power of the PurseAssist with the management of all United Way of DeKalb County marketing by:▪ Assist with the management of website and social media▪ Write press releases, as neededAssist the Early Learning Coordinator with the Early Learning Initiative to include:▪ Grant writing to utilize state association grants to help implement the Early Learning Initiative and keep track of what has been implemented▪ Manage the United Way of DeKalb County Imagination Library initiative▪ Assist with Kindergarten Countdown Camp: manage process/timeline, relationship management with schools, order materials, deliver materials, visit sites▪ Maintain required data and reporting for Early Learning Initiative▪ Function under the constraints of a budget specific for Early Learning workOther duties to include:▪ Compile and write reports, as needed▪ Back-up/perform other responsibilities as neededPosition RequirementsPrimary position requirements are listed below:▪ Bachelor’s degree or comparable combination of experience and education▪ Previous experience is desired for this position▪ Knowledge of grant making, grant writing, and local DeKalb County resources is desired▪ Counting and Math Skills ▪▪▪ Must be able to count whole numbers and decimals, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and be able to use whole numbers, decimals, and fractions▪ Computer and basic Secretarial Skills ▪▪▪ Must be able to key data entry assignments by touch, understand basic filing systems, respond grammatically on the phone and record information and update charts or software with specific dataEssential ResponsibilitiesEssential functions of this position are listed below:▪ Ability to interface with high level external contacts requiring discretion and initiative▪ Carry out assignments relating to committee activities involving social, fundraising, and marketing functions▪ Creating marketing materials and ads (press releases), letters, script▪ Track volunteer hours▪ Processing and tracking orders▪ Correspondence/report preparation▪ Equipment inventory▪ Purchasing▪ Regulatory Committee Requirements▪ Special Event support/planning▪ Website and social media maintenance▪ Additional support to Executive Director
