In this role, you will be expected to provide architectural and user experience feedback, implement features as designed, and develop shared packages and features that would be consumed by other teams with a focus on security and stability.\n\nYou will be a hands-on contributor to the mobile and web authentication architecture, contributing to features that span across multiple platforms and lines of business.\n\nAt this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.\nThe Work Itself\n\nAuthentication Development & Strategy\nImplement and maintain authentication features by using or developing shared components, integrating SDKs, and leveraging operating system provided tooling (Biometrics, Passcode)\nCollaborate with senior engineers to inform direction, architecture decisions, and adoption of modern React Native capabilities (TurboModules, Fabric)\nEnsure consistency, performance, and maintainability across the app and shared modules\nCross-Team Enablement\nSupport other product teams in leveraging authentication features to enable API access and appropriate access levels for sensitive features and maintaining authenticated state throughout the user experience\nCreate and maintain documentation for the implementation and integration of reusable authentication patterns\nWrite high-quality, production-ready code that balances maintainability, performance, and scalability\n\nThe Skills You Bring\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n7+ years of relevant experience.\nBachelor’s Degree in relevant field(s) of study or equivalent.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n4+ years working with React or React Native in production environments.\nStrong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React patterns.\nExperience using extensible component libraries to build out features to designed specifications.\nComfortable contributing to architectural discussions.\nExperience with modularization strategies in large applications.\nFamiliarity with automated testing frameworks (Cypress, Maestro).\nPerformance optimization and observability in mobile and web applications.\nExperience supporting multiple product teams via shared mobile infrastructure and internal NPM packages.\nStrong collaborator and contributor in technical documentation.\nSystems thinker with attention to maintainability and scalability.\nExcellent problem-solving and debugging skills.\nClear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nNice to haves\n\nExperience with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and/or Android (Kotlin/Java) development\nFamiliarity with React Native New Architecture (TurboModules, Fabric)\nFamiliarity with third party Access Management solutions (Okta, Transmit Security)\nFamiliarity with various authentication patterns (SAML, OAUTH, Passwordless)\n#LI-Hybrid\nHow We'll Have Your Back\nAlly's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
