Students will have opportunities to develop skills in:\n\nProcess optimization and continuous improvement\nManufacturing data analysis and reporting\nRoot cause analysis and problem solving\nProcess controls and quality systems\nCapital project support and execution\nProcess safety and environmental compliance\nCross-functional teamwork in a heavy industrial environment\nProfessional presentation and communication skills\n\nAbout the Job\n\nThe Process Engineering Co-Op supports Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams by helping improve manufacturing processes, plant performance, safety, and operational efficiency across MLC's facilities.\n\nCollect and analyze production, quality, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities\nAssist with engineering calculations, process evaluations, and performance studies\nParticipate in troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis investigations\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity\nAssist with capital and plant improvement projects, including field inspections and startup activities (measurement of key process parameters, including air flows, mass flows, temperatures, etc.)\nCollaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, and Engineering teams to support plant objectives\nParticipate in plant trials and evaluate results to support data-driven decision making\nDevelop reports, recommendations, and presentations for engineering and plant leadership\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nSophomore standing or higher pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related engineering discipline\nMinimum 2.75 GPA\nAbility to work in an industrial manufacturing, mining, and chemical processing environment\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills\nEffective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail\nCommitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety and environmental requirements\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nCoursework or project experience in Process Engineering, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Process Controls, Manufacturing Systems, or Statistical Analysis\nExperience performing engineering calculations, technical analysis, laboratory work, or data analysis\nInterest in manufacturing, mining, process industries, or industrial operations\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment\n\nThe Fine Print\n\nBenefits and perquisites may vary based on the nature and location of each job.\n\nClick here for MLC EEO information\n\nAbout MLC\n\nMLC, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is a leading global supplier of high-calcium lime products and technical solutions.
