We emphasize continuous learning and growth, fostering cross-functional collaboration where your contributions are vital to our success.\nPosition Overview: As a Firmware Test Engineer , you will be responsible for developing comprehensive test strategies, complex test setups, and automated validation frameworks for Echo’s medical devices. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of embedded systems by creating high-quality test infrastructures and collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the full product development life cycle.\nKey Responsibilities:\nUnderstand product requirements, design inputs, and system architectural needs, and translate them into firmware test needs\n\nDevelop automated test scripts for firmware and hardware validation\n\nDevelop supporting firmware components needed to enable automated test execution\n\nCollaborate with electrical, hardware, and software engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage\n\nCreate documents describing test architectures and methodologies\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field\n\n5+ years of experience in firmware testing, including automated test development and execution\n\nKnowledge of medical device development processes, including design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance\n\nExperience working across multi-disciplinary teams and time zones, demonstrating critical thinking and technical leadership\n\nFamiliarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to software and medical devices\n\nSkills and Abilities:\nStrong proficiency in Python and Embedded C\n\nPython-based automated test frameworks for embedded firmware\n\nExperience with CI/CD processes for automation and version releases\n\nLinux-based testing rigs\n\nUnderstanding of firmware architectures (bare-metal and RTOS)\n\nFamiliarity with I2C, SPI, UART, and other communication protocols\n\nAbility to read PCB schematics and translate them to firmware test requirements\n\nHands-on experience with lab equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers\n\nStrong debugging skills across hardware, firmware, and software layers\n\nProficiency with Git for software version control\n\n(Optional) Experience with design and implementation of test plans for verification and validation in compliance with FDA development standards\n\nWhat We Offer An opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge projects to transform patients’ lives in a highly collaborative work environment.\n\nCompetitive compensation, including stock options.\n\nComprehensive benefits package.\n\n401(k) program with matching contributions.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer Echo Neurotechnologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
