You will be deeply involved at a strategic and tactical level with full responsibility for the finance and accounting functions which includes closing the books, creating financial models and budgets, and participating in financial analysis of M&A and other business activities. This is a true “roll up your sleeves” environment where you will wear multiple hats and contribute on significant levels. You will also focus on upgrading reporting and visibility in all areas of the business with an emphasis on analytical and data-driven decision making.\nA competitive base salary plus bonus opportunity is offered along with compelling equity incentives.\nPosition Overview\nOversee financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation\nCreate and own cash flow and P&L forecasting tools\nManage all expense reporting, coding, and billing\nProcess payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable\nPerform monthly account reconciliations\nRecommend benchmarks that will be used to measure Paynuity’s performance\nProduce and monitor the annual budget and weekly forecasts\nProvide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations\nEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements\nPrepare and publish timely monthly financial statements\nCoordinate annual tax filings\nCoordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting\nSupport month-end and year-end close process\nEnsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting\nDevelop, document and maintain business processes and accounting policies; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.\nAnalyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making\nMonitor cash flow, investments, and banking activities\nSupport senior management team in financial planning and results management\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred\nExcellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders\nExperience in fintech startups or venture capital is a plus\nExperience in the payments industry is also a plus\nStrong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards including Sales Tax filing and SEC regulations\nStrong numeracy and analytical skills\nGood problem-solving and time management skills.\nHighly organized and detail-oriented\nStrong working knowledge of QuickBooks & Microsoft Office tools (Excel proficiency is a must).\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements\nEntrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and relationships\nWillingness to intensively and rapidly dive into understanding the needs of Paynuity’s growing platform\nFlexibility to travel, work some nights and weekends\nStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills\nPaynuity is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
