Translation & Interpretation Support VolunteerHelp us build stronger connections in our community by ensuring everyone feels seen, heard, and understood!As a Translation & Interpretation Support Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in making Habitat Charlotte Region's programs accessible to Spanish-speaking individuals and families. Your language skills will help bridge communication gaps and foster meaningful relationships across our diverse community.What You'll DoProvide in-person interpretation at outreach events, helping Spanish-speaking attendees learn about Habitat's programs and services (as needed)Support Habitat staff during meetings with Latino organizations and faith-based groups by offering live interpretation (at least 7 meetings)Translate materials such as flyers, brochures, presentations, and outreach letters from English to Spanish—ensuring everything is clear, accurate, and culturally relevant across all departmentsWhat You BringFluency in English and Spanish (both verbal and written)A passion for and/or experience working with the Latino communityStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across culturesA commitment to Habitat's mission of building homes, communities, and hopeA professional, positive presence in community settingsExperience with translation and/or interpretation (preferred)Time CommitmentFlexible schedule based on events and meetings (approximately 2–6 hours per month)Availability for occasional evenings and weekends (Monday–Sunday)Ability to attend events within our service area: Mecklenburg, Iredell, and Gaston countiesYour voice can make a difference—help us ensure every neighbor has access to the resources they need.
