This role involves working with Energy Management System (EMS) models, performing power flow analysis, and supporting reliable grid operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a changing landscape, demonstrates strong critical thinking, and contributes to a collaborative team. While technical expertise is valued, we prioritize emotional intelligence (EQ), adaptability, internal drive, and excellent communication skills. Our strong team can provide guidance on technical aspects as needed.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nMaintain and update EMS power system models for accurate representation of the transmission grid.\n\nPerform power flow studies and congestion analysis using tools such as PSSE or PowerWorld.\n\nSupport flowgate monitoring, identification, and management to ensure reliable transmission operations.\n\nAnalyze transmission constraints, contingencies, and potential congestion points.\n\nCollaborate with cross‑functional teams on process improvements in a rapidly evolving operational environment.\n\nUtilize scripting (e.g., Python) to automate modeling tasks, data analysis, and reporting.\n\nCommunicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, including operations and planning teams.\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (focus on Power Systems preferred) or related field.\n\nExperience working in an RTO, ISO, or utility environment.\n\nModeling (especially EMS models): minimum 3 years.\n\nPSSE experience: minimum 3 years.\n\nPython (required).\n\nRTO or Utility experience (required).\n\nExperience with power flow simulation software such as PSSE (Siemens PSS/E) or PowerWorld Simulator (proficiency in one is sufficient).\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nIDC Modeling experience (preferred).\n\nBenefits\n\nRobust Health Insurance\n\n401(k) plan\n\nPTO\n\nPaid holidays\n\nAbout Theoris\nOur goal is to Fuel Your Career!
