Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.\nResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, monitoring, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nMonitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures.\nSupervise and provide guidance to ensure all tasks, projects and deadlines are met.\nDetermines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow by issuing written and oral instructions to staff.\nWork with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.\n\nOperations\n\nEnsures all safety procedures are strictly adhered to including that \"Lock out and tag out\" and fall protection is strictly enforced and disciplined.\nManages a staff comprised of Setup Technicians, and Setup Mechanics.\nMust effectively manage a staff that works the 24/7 schedule and properly communicate and coordinate activities on the evening and weekend work schedule.\nPeriodically works a swing shift for the purpose of developing the second shift technical staff and ensuring consistency of work.\nCollaborates with the Production Control Manager and develops staffing plans to support the manufacturing schedule, machinery maintenance and repair schedule.\nAssists in the development of the preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for production equipment.\nDevelops and administers preventative and predictive maintenance on all manufacturing equipment. Organizes and maintains maintenance records per Inline Plastics requirements.\nDevelops and organizes a library of equipment specifications, operating manuals, parts and maintenance manuals to ensure manufacturing equipment is operated and maintained properly.\nDevelops the knowledge and skills of the staff to meet productivity objectives of plant management and obtain consistency of work across the (4) shifts of staff that he/she is responsible for.\nAssists, as necessary, with the troubleshooting process, machinery and repair of equipment to minimize downtime.\nCan perform analysis to benchmark current Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and identify areas requiring improvement.\nCollaborates with Process Engineers to develop and facilitate improvement plans to reduce or eliminate tooling repair issues, machine repair issues, machine cleaning issues, scrap generation, etc. that effect machine run time.\nKnowledgeable in the areas of 6S, SMED and lean manufacturing principles and supports the implementation of such programs.\nKnowledgeable in Inline Plastics Corp’s product quality standards and inspection methods.\nEnsures compliance of employees with company’s policies, procedures and safety requirements.\nEnsures employees maintain a clutter free, organized and safe working environment and that employees work and behave in a safe manner.\n\nSafety\n\nComply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.\nPrompt reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision. Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.\nAttend scheduled EHS trainings.\nActively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals. Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.\nDemonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.\nEnsures that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to including but not limited to the use of harness, platform ladders, railing, lifts\nEnsures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.\n\nProduct Safety and Quality\n\nFollows Product Safety and Quality standards.\nFollows GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.\nFollows IPC product defense standards and complies with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.\n\nMinimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.)\n\nThe list below represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.\nMust have the ability to comprehend and apply the principles of algebra.\nMust have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
