Our facility has a wide range of machine types and sizes, as well as varying auxiliary equipment including robotics, conveyors, thermolators, etc. This position requires you to work with these different types of machinery during the setup of the mold, while processing startup parts and throughout the entire production run as you are troubleshooting.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nSets up molds in 20 to 1,100 ton injection molding presses\nWorks with manual and fully electronic control panels\nSets up and programs auxiliary equipment\nPerforms part changeovers while mold is in the press\nPrints production paperwork and documents machine adjustments\nOrganizes and sets up workstations in manufacturing areas\nAssists in conducting mold tool trials\nWorks with supervision on setup productivity improvement projects\nPerforms general housekeeping duties to keep your work area and the company neat and organized\nFollows all safety policies and procedures\nPerforms all other duties as directed, requested or assigned by the supervisor\n\nCompetencies\n\nCommunication\nDecision Making\nInitiative\nTeamwork\nTechnical Capacity\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\n\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\n\nWork Environment\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. At times, fumes from burnt plastic may be present. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nThe employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. It is possible the employee will need to stoop, kneel, or crouch down. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 35 pounds.\n\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work\n\nThis is a full-time position. Steinwall runs a 10x4 model (10 hour days, 4 days a week). The hours for this position are 4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Monday-Thursday.\n\nTravel\n\nNo travel is expected for this position.\n\nRequired Education and Experience\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n\nPreferred Education and Experience\n\nPrior plastic injection molding experience\n\nTechnical or vocational training\n\nAdditional Eligibility Qualifications\n\nStable work history\n\nGood attention to detail\n\nAbility to read and understand work instructions and do basic math\n\nBasic keyboarding and computer skills\n\nMechanical aptitude\n\nAbility to read and understand blueprints\n\n*Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
