In fact, we are working hard to become and be recognized as a Great Place to Work Best Workplaces in the USA.About this RoleThe Driver Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a team of drivers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This role involves coordinating schedules, training and developing drivers, filling in for vacations/callouts, coordinating vehicle maintenance, and addressing any operational challenges. The Driver Lead acts as a liaison between the drivers and the management team, ensuring clear communication and smooth operations. This position is expected to collaborate with the Retail store leadership team regarding fulfillment to ensure the highest standard of service, order accuracy, and efficiency is achieved.What you'll DoDelivery Operations (Primary)Operate a full delivery shift as a working driver, completingtimed-window deliveries safely and on time usingOnfleet.Verify orders for accuracy, product count, and METRC manifest compliance beforedepartingfor each route.Collect customer signatures and document all transactions in the delivery logperMichigan CRA regulation (R 420.207).Handle cash and digital payment transactions accurately; reconcile at end of shift without exception.Operate company vehicles safely, follow all fleet safety policies, andmaintainclean Samsara safety scores.Represent LIV's service standards on every customer interaction, in person, by phone, and through theOnfleetmessaging channel.Dispatch SupportCover open dispatch shifts orassistdispatch remotely when volume, staffing, or unforeseen issues require it.Monitor active delivery tasks inOnfleetduring your shift and proactively communicate delays to dispatch.Help triage driver issues in the field (route problems, vehicle concerns, customer escalations) and escalate appropriately.Support the team in understanding slot capacity, zone assignments, and OTPtargetsso every driver understands why the schedule is built the way it is.Serve as theon-shiftpoint of contact for driver questions when dispatch is unavailable or at capacity.Driver OnboardingLeadthe practicalonboarding fornew drivers: vehicle orientation,Onfleetwalkthrough, delivery log training, cash handling, and compliance expectations.Accompany new drivers on ride-alongsto evaluate field readiness and provide real-time coaching before they run solo.Modelthe standard: how you carry yourself, treat customers, and manage your shift is the bar every driver should be measuring against.Compliance and AccuracyEnsure all deliveries are made to a residential address within Michigan state boundaries in full compliance with state regulations.Maintainaccuratedelivery logs per CRA rules, confirming customer identity and signature on every transaction.Escalate any compliance irregularities, customer concerns, or safety incidentsimmediatelyand through the proper channel.Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, andstocked with required materials at all times.What You BringRequiredValid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR reviewrequired).Michigan residency (all deliveries are within state boundaries).21 years of age or older.At least 1 year of delivery driver experience, ideally in cannabis, pharmacy, or a regulated-product environment.Comfortable withOnfleetor similar delivery dispatch software; willing to learn fast if not already familiar.Strong communicationskills: you will be communicating with customers, dispatch, site staff, and management across multiple channels.Reliable, punctual, and accountable. This role has a small margin for inconsistency.Able to pass a background check per Michigan CRA requirements.PreferredPrior experience in cannabis delivery or retail cannabis operations.Experience as a shift lead, peer trainer, or any informal leadership role in a service environment.Familiarity with timed delivery windows, route batching, or dispatch coordination.Comfort with Dutchie POS, Samsara, METRC, or similar retail, fleet, or compliance tools.Ability to stay calm and problem-solve in the field when things do not go according to plan.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and drive for the full shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Comfortableoperatinga company vehicle in all Michigan weather conditions, including winter.
