This role exists to ensure the business always knows exactly where it stands financially and where improvement is required. This is a hands-on, plant-level Controller role. You will execute day-to-day accounting and financial management while building the structure, controls, and discipline required to support operational performance and growth.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & CloseOwn the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and monthly close.Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting practices and strong internal controls.Cash Flow & Working CapitalMonitor cash flow and working capital with a focus on AR collections, AP discipline, and liquidity visibility.Partner with leadership to ensure predictable cash management.Cost Accounting & InventoryOversee inventory valuation, standard vs. actual costing, and variance analysis.Ensure BOMs, routings, and inventory processes accurately reflect plant operations.Margin & Profitability AnalysisPerform margin analysis and identify opportunities for profitability improvement.Provide clear insights into cost drivers and operational performance.Forecasting & PlanningSupport rolling forecasts and financial planning tied directly to production and demand.Provide timely variance analysis against budget and forecast.Systems & Financial DisciplineEnforce financial discipline within the existing ERP system.Identify financial risks early and escalate issues with data-backed recommendations.Team LeadershipSupervise and develop a small accounting and administrative team as needed.Hold the line on financial standards and challenge assumptions when the numbers do not support the direction.What Success Looks LikeFinancial data is accurate, timely, and trusted.Month-end close is efficient and disciplined.Inventory, costs, and margins are clearly understood.Financial issues are identified early and addressed proactively.Leadership has confidence in financial reporting and decision support.Who This Role Is ForAn experienced manufacturing accounting leader with strong plant-level cost accounting expertise.Hands-on, detail-driven, and comfortable working directly within operations.Confident challenging decisions and assumptions when financial data does not support them.On-site presence required; limited flexibility once established.Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
