The ideal candidate brings hands-on cloud engineering experience and the ability to work independently on both new development and modernization efforts.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and implement cloud applications and migrate existing on-premises applications to the cloud.\nAnalyze applications and provide recommendations for cloud platform selection, migration, deployment, and optimization.\nDesign strategies for failure/recovery, cost optimization, and evaluating cloud, cloud-agnostic, and on-premises services.\nManage and enforce policies for cloud service usage and new technology requests, ensuring a secure cloud environment.\nEnsure appropriate uptime and availability design for cloud-hosted services.\nIndependently design and develop new cloud software solutions or major enhancements to existing applications.\nDebug cloud stacks, troubleshoot issues, and manage cloud infrastructure.\nRequired For This Opportunity\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of cloud engineering or cloud development experience.\nStrong understanding of cloud platforms, services, and cloud service delivery models (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, DaaS).\nProficiency with DevSecOps practices and automation tools (GitLab preferred).\nExperience with container orchestration and associated security practices.\nHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently.\nExperience developing migration plans, deployment strategies, and optimization recommendations for cloud applications.\nTop Secret Security Clearance required\nNice to Have Skills\nExperience designing cloud failure/recovery and resiliency strategies.\nBackground managing cloud policies and secure cloud operating environments.\nExperience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments.\n\nAt AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.\n\nThe targeted base salary range for this role is $102,000-$154,000 per year.
