We grow together and are stronger together.\r\nWhat's unique about this role?\r\nThe Associate Database Administrator (DBA) is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the database team in maintaining, monitoring, and administering enterprise database systems. Working under the guidance of senior DBAs, this role focuses on learning and applying foundational database practices, ensuring data availability, reliability, and performance, and gaining the skills needed to manage production database environments effectively.\r\nWhat will this person do?\r\nPerform routine database backups, restores, and integrity checks.\r\nAssist with user account creation, access provisioning, and security permissions.\r\nApply patches, updates, and minor configuration changes under supervision.\r\nExecute standard operating procedures and runbooks; upscale issues when required.\r\nHelp with data import/export activities and basic maintenance scripts.\r\nDocument processes, incidents, and solutions, and contribute to the team knowledge base.\r\nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to troubleshoot database-related issues.\r\nMonitor database health, performance, and availability to ensure optimal operations\r\nBring your passion and together we will shine. It would also be great if you had the following:\r\nExperience: 0-2 years of experience in IT operations, database support, or system administration.\r\nBasic understanding of SQL concepts, including queries, joins, indexing, and schema structure.\r\nFamiliarity with Windows and/or Linux server environments.\r\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.\r\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\r\nEagerness to learn and grow into a full Database Administrator role.\r\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).\r\nExposure to relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.\r\nBasic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python).\r\nUnderstanding of backup/restore strategies and database security fundamentals.\r\nWork Environment and Physical Demands\r\nDuties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.\r\nDuties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.\r\nDuties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).\r\nLighthouse celebrates and thrives on diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
