{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d6e2faf7c6fa648570b8e573","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d6e2faf7c6fa648570b8e573","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d6e2faf7c6fa648570b8e573","title":"Component Engineer","description":"Job Title: Component Engineer\nDepartment: Supply Chain/OPS\nResponsibilities:\nDVT & Design Release Support\nParticipate in DVT readiness and design reviews to identify component risks, manufacturability concerns, and documentation gaps.\nSupport design transfer activities to ensure readiness for manufacturing release.\nComponent Risk & Lifecycle Assessment\nEvaluate lifecycle status (NRND/EOL), supplier risk, and availability\nRecommend alternates and mitigation strategies.\nSupport Release of OTS and custom parts\nMechanical Drawing Review & Manufacturability\nReview drawings for dimensional accuracy, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and tolerance stack-up risks.\nAssess manufacturability relative to supplier capabilities.\nIdentify over-constrained tolerances and yield risks.\nProvide actionable DFM/DFA feedback.\nCross-Functional Support\nAct as liaison between Engineering and Supply Chain.\nSupport supplier technical discussions.\nAssist in resolving build and early production issues.\nSupport an effort of the supply chain activity by identifying long lead time items and engaging with the suppliers for potential cross-references\nData & Documentation\nSupport lifecycle advancement of components in Propel by ensuring complete specifications, compliance, and approved sourcing for pre-production readiness.\nEnsure alignment of component data across Propel/NetSuite.\nSupport traceability and audit readiness.\nQualifications & Requirements:\n· Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field\n6+ years of experience in component engineering, hardware engineering, or a related technical role.\nExperience supporting product development through DVT and design release phases.\nExperience in a regulated environment (medical device preferred).\nHands-on experience working with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing)\nStrong understanding of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components.\nExperience evaluating component lifecycle (Active, NRND, EOL) and supply risk.\nAbility to review datasheets and perform fit, form, and function analysis.\nAbility to read and critically review mechanical drawings.\nWorking knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) principles.\nUnderstanding of tolerance stack-up and its impact on assembly and performance.\nFamiliarity with common manufacturing processes (machining, molding, sheet metal) and associated constraints.\nFamiliarity with design transfer processes and production ramp considerations.\nFamiliarity with PLM systems (Propel) and ERP systems (NetSuite).\nUnderstanding of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements preferred.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.\nAbility to identify risks and provide clear, actionable recommendations.\nEffective communication across engineering and operations teams.\nAbility to work independently in high-impact role with minimal supervision.\nStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize high value activities.\nPhysical Demands:\n· Sitting at a desk utilizing a computer\nWorking Environment:\nTypical office areas with offices, cubicles and conference rooms.\nPay: $84,227.30 -
