This program provides software development and technical support services to sustain, enhance, and optimize a critical customer system through secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.\n\nThe Test Engineer / QA Lead will lead all quality assurance and software testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies, managing the software defect lifecycle, supporting cybersecurity accreditation activities, and ensuring software releases meet the highest standards for functionality, security, performance, accessibility, and reliability. Working closely with software engineers, architects, DevSecOps engineers, database administrators, and Government stakeholders, the QA Lead will help ensure every release is thoroughly validated before deployment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the planning, coordination, and execution of comprehensive software testing activities, including functional, regression, integration, security, performance, and user acceptance testing.\nDesign, develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites supporting web applications, APIs, databases, and system integrations.\nCreate and maintain detailed manual test cases and test procedures for scenarios that require manual validation.\nDevelop reusable automated testing frameworks to improve testing efficiency and release quality.\nManage the complete software defect lifecycle, including defect identification, documentation, prioritization, verification, and closure in collaboration with development teams.\nProvide regular testing status updates, metrics, and quality reports to the Government Test Manager and program leadership.\nSupport Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities by producing required testing evidence, security validation documentation, and accreditation artifacts.\nValidate software compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ensuring zero accessibility defects through automated and manual testing.\nVerify software security scan results and ensure new vulnerabilities are remediated or properly documented, including validation of false positives.\nCollaborate with Agile development teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality objectives for each sprint.\nParticipate in peer reviews, sprint planning, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nPromote quality engineering best practices, test automation, and continuous testing throughout the software development lifecycle.\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering within DoD, federal, or large enterprise environments.\nExperience leading both manual and automated software testing efforts.\nProficiency with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, REST Assured, or equivalent testing tools.\nExperience with API testing, database testing, and test automation development.\nExperience managing software defect tracking and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.\nFamiliarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) testing evidence requirements and security assessment reporting.\nExperience using accessibility testing tools and validating compliance with WCAG standards.\nStrong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.\nActive Secret Security Clearance.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nISTQB Certified Tester or equivalent software testing certification.\nExperience supporting U.S. Air Force or other Department of Defense software modernization programs.\nExperience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar platforms.\nExperience with CI/CD-integrated automated testing.\nFamiliarity with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps pipelines.\nExperience validating STIG compliance and security testing results.\nKnowledge of DevSecOps practices and continuous quality engineering methodologies.\n\nBenefits\n\nFounded in 1995 at the start of the dot-com revolution, TechFlow helped large commercial clients such as DreamWorks, Toshiba, MGM, and others modernize their business systems.
