The trainees will attend training classes on various tax types and laws affecting Individual Income Tax, Withholding Income Tax, Sales and Use Tax, Business Income Tax, and will learn to use GenTax and MyTax Illinois software. In the Local Government Services Bureau, trainees will process correspondence, review annexations, verify tax locations, and analyze remittance reports to verify accuracy of records. Attention to detail is highly desirable. Vacancies for dual titles are filled using the same priorities as are used for certificates.Conditions of EmploymentRequires the ability to successfully complete a tax compliance and fingerprint-based background check.This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)).
