You’ll support multiple deployments of this system, each providing important capabilities for a broad array of missions. You’ll be able to engage directly with the user community and customer leadership to learn how the system impacts them, capture and validate requirements, influence architecture and design decisions, and demonstrate new features. You’ll work with an existing team of talented developers and system support staff, with opportunities to learn from senior-level peers, assist and mentor junior developers, and initiate improvements to the development environment, build pipelines, test automation, and other processes.\n\nExperience and Qualifications:\n\nTo be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:\n\nRequired Education and Years of Experience:\n\n9 Years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.\nA Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nExperience with frontend development using JavaScript and/or TypeScript\nProficiency in building secure, reliable web applications on Linux servers\nExperience with relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL)\nKnowledge of, and experience with, Git workflows, continuous integration, and DevOps practices\nAbility to obtain and/or maintain a TS/SCI government clearance which requires US Citizenship\n\nDesired Qualifications:\n\nExperience working in Agile / Scrum teams\nExperience developing PHP-based web applications\nExperience with frontend frameworks such as Vue, Angular, React, etc.\nExperience working with NoSQL or document-based databases (e.g., Elasticsearch)\nKnowledge of web accessibility and user experience design\nExperience applying Site Reliability Engineering practices\nStrong technical documentation and presentation skills\n\nTelework/Remote Availability: Yes, telework is approved currently.\n\nWork Location(s): Annapolis Junction, MD; Washington, DC; or Reston, VA area preferred (telework is allowed)\n\nDetermination: The final salary offered will be based on the awarded contract funding and the selected candidate’s experience, education, and geographic location.\n\nSHINE Systems is an Equal Employment/Affirmative Action employer.
