Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Your expertise will play a vital role in students’ development and educational achievement.Qualifications and Experience:State certification as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settingsProficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive technology and audiological devicesStrong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teamsResponsibilities:Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearingDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needsConsult with teachers and staff to adapt curricula and instructional techniques for accessibilityCollaborate with speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionalsMonitor student progress, assess needs, and adjust interventions as necessaryAdvocate for students by participating in IEP meetings and fostering communication between home and schoolStep into a meaningful contract role and help shape inclusive experiences for students.
