The successful candidate will need to be able to execute under pressure and prioritize individual tasks appropriately. In addition, the desire to work on novel, challenging problems to find a solution is a plus!\n\nPosition Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop CAD/geometry models from engineering drawings, photos, and laboratory data\n\nDevelop and/or select appropriate material properties\n\nDevelop and/or select appropriate nonlinear material models (plasticity, creep, viscoplasticity, hyperelasticity, etc)\n\nLiterature and research review of material properties\n\nDevelopment, oversight, and interpretation of material testing in laboratory setting\n\nDevelop finite element models of designs and anomalous conditions\n\nMultiphysics analyses typically including thermal-mechanical stresses but may also include other forms of physical behavior\n\nDefine appropriate boundary conditions to represent problem\n\nDefine appropriate mesh densities to resolve problem details without excessive run time\n\nDebug models by altering solver settings\n\nDefine and evaluate failure criteria (fatigue, maximum stress/strain, crack propagation, etc.)\n\nWrite clear, concise reports with annotated figures to communicate model results and recommendations. Brief them to high level customers\n\nDefend results upon peer review including internal and customer consultants.\n\nThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\n\nExperience with finite element analysis\n\n5+ years of experience with analysis tools (i.e., PSpice, MATLAB, MATHCAD, ANSYS, COMSOL, Mentor Graphics electrical tools, Saber, Zuken E3, Xilinx Vivad)\n\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\n\nBachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or materials and science engineering (with a stress analysis focus)\n\nFundamental understanding of differential equations underlying models\n\nExperience with electronics\n\nExperience conveying complex problems and solutions to high level customers\n\nTypical Education:\n\nEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
