Senior Safety ProfessionalLocation:On-Site - Pasadena, CAPay Rate:$50-$60 per hourSchedule:Monday-Friday | 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Overtime and occasional weekends may be required)Perks:Company vehicle and gas card providedJob SummaryWe are seeking an experiencedSenior Safety Professionalto support the development, implementation, and auditing of safety programs across active job sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting injury prevention initiatives, and fostering a strong, proactive safety culture. The Senior Safety Professional works closely with field employees, leadership, customers, and regulatory agencies to provide oversight, coaching, and technical safety guidance.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFacilitate safety training in person, virtually, and via e-learning in collaboration with the Training DepartmentTrain field leaders on safety responsibilities, hazard identification, and safety program complianceBuild strong internal relationships with field leadership and project teams to drive a positive safety culturePrepare for and respond to natural disasters, including developing and leading evacuation drillsMaintain strong external relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory organizationsAssist with injury management, including follow-ups, documentation, communication, and return-to-work coordinationEnsure timely and accurate collection of injury documentation and proper care for injured employeesDevelop, review, and communicate site-specific safety plans; conduct field engagements to ensure complianceRespond to and support safety incidents, including consultation and on-site responseConduct incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actionsCoach field, shop, and office teams on safe work practices and regulatory requirementsManage internal and external safety inspections, audits, hazard analyses, and recordkeepingReview serious injuries and incidents, analyze trends, and recommend preventive measuresIdentify hazards, recommend controls, and ensure unsafe acts or conditions are corrected promptlyAssist in selecting appropriate safety equipment, PPE, and signageProvide technical expertise related to safety management and regulatory complianceLiaise with OSHA and other authorities during inspections, audits, and follow-up activitiesSupport work stoppages ("pause work") when necessary and lead safety mitigation discussionsConduct research and develop statistical analyses to support management decision-makingCreate and maintain evacuation plans and ensure compliance with regulatory standardsPerform additional duties as assignedPosition RequirementsWorking knowledge of safety and environmental principles and practicesFamiliarity with federal, state, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulationsExperience in construction or maintenance operationsAbility to identify safety exposures and recommend corrective actionsStrong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate concerns tactfully and professionally with field leadership and stakeholdersStrong verbal and written communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAnalytical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, non-structured environment and reprioritize as neededProficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Apple applications, and collaboration toolsEducation & ExperienceMinimum 7 years of experience in construction, maintenance, safety, or operationsExperience in mechanical contracting or commercial/industrial construction strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceRequired Certifications & LicensesCHST or CSP certification requiredOSHA 10-hour certification (must be obtained within 30 days if not current)Valid driver's license meeting company requirementsAdditional InformationOn-site position in Pasadena, CALocal travel requiredSome nights and weekends may be requiredAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
