Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics!\n\nJob Summary:\n\nThe Supplier Development Specialist ensures that supplier systems, processes, and build capabilities align with the design intent of the customer and comply with the end customer’s requirements. This includes verifying the initial supply chain company capabilities and ensuring ongoing compliance.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nDrive improvements using Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards, and audits to ensure supplier compliance while implementing systematic problem-solving and process improvement plans to deliver value.\n\nDevelop positive relationships and collaborate with sourcing leaders to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering design changes, capacity studies, New Product Introductions (NPIs), and transfers.\n\nAchieve results measured by key metrics, such as supplier yield, field cost, field defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement/effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure.\n\nSpecify and develop product acceptance/test procedures for complex processes or highly advanced products.\n\nDrive cost-effective improvements to quality and manufacturing processes, minimize waste, introduce new products, and enhance product design.\n\nProvide technical expertise and leadership in sourcing and supplier development regarding technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics, and delivery.\n\nLead investigations of major problems or special projects, fostering strong working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain for product development and part procurement.\n\nConduct new supplier validation audits with supplier support and ensure compliance.\n\nAssist with new product launches by collaborating with suppliers to meet key milestones.\n\nWork with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) to define process parameters and criteria, ensuring supplier process capability meets product and process requirements.\n\nPerform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.\n\nAny other task assigned by your supervisor or management\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nExperience: Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Manufacturing Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering\n\nSourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and program management o Experience developing and implementing vendor qualification\n\nDemonstrated experience as “change agent” internally, and externally with suppliers with positive results\n\nExperience with 6 Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Methodologies • Knowledge:\n\nKnowledge of quality and business systems o Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) o Understanding of Manufacturing standards (e.g. ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, IPC standards)\n\nSkills/Abilities: o Report and procedure writing with excellent presentation skills\n\nAbility to interpret/read drawings, prints, and specifications\n\nAbility to work in a diverse and dynamic environment o Strong written and verbal communication skills o Strong influential and negotiation skills\n\nEducation/Certification: BS in manufacturing or engineering\n\nEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)\n\nPreferred Qualifications :\n\nIn-depth knowledge of Printed Circuit Card Assemblies and Printed Wiring Boards.
