Our work depends on a Software Developer Principal joining our team to design/develop/modernize the client's software in a highly Agile environment attending daily scrums and following Sprint Ceremonies/Best\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nLead a team that maintains and modernizes applications in cloud environments with emphasis on scalable, secure backend services for data‑driven tools.\nBuild and maintain Databricks jobs/notebooks and integrations that support large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and analytics required by backend services and reporting components.\nWorking on a fast-paced Angular/Java/Springboot development effort in a Cloud DevOps environment with a 100% remote Agile team\nDesign, implement, and maintain backend components and APIs that integrate, aggregate, and expose data from multiple upstream systems and data stores (e.g., relational databases, search engines, and Databricks-backed data pipelines).\nImplement and execute performance tests to identify and help remediate performance bottlenecks in databases, Databricks jobs, search engines, and microservices.\nWork within Agile/Scrum teams, using Rally to manage and update user stories and tasks throughout 3‑week sprints.\nAnalyze and implement user stories to meet functional and non‑functional requirements accurately (performance, scalability, security, usability).\nWrite clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit tests to ensure performance, reliability, and a consistent user experience.\nEnforce unit testing and code coverage standards before commits/merges in GitLab to reduce defects.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, testers, product owners, data engineers, and stakeholders) to deliver high-quality software that aligns with business and domain needs.\nBuild and manage datasets to support automated, manual, and exploratory testing, including realistic scenarios involving integrated data sources.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:\n3+ years of related experience with systems that make API calls and system integration with Databricks in an Agile development team\nFamiliar with Databricks jobs/notebooks and integrations that support large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and analytics required by backend services and reporting components.\nAbility to lead, communicate and troubleshoot with a team that works 100% remotely\nRequired Technical Skills:\nExperience managing developers / systems that have integration points with Databricks for data processing, transformation, and analytics, including developing and maintaining data pipelines/notebooks that integrate with backend services and downstream data stores.\nStrong experience in managing developers performing back-end development services and implementing capabilities to support web applications using microservices.\nFamiliarity with Java/J2EE (Java 19 or higher preferred) and related work experience.\nExperience with systems that integrate and aggregate data from multiple sources using Databricks to support analytical or examination workflows.\nExperience with performance tracking, workflow, or analytics systems that rely on integrating data from multiple enterprise sources.\nExperience in requirements gathering and direct interaction with high level program stakeholders.\nFamiliarity and exposure to Java REST APIs / Microservices and Angular 19+.\nTypescript, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, PrimeNG, RxJS.\nECS (building Docker images and deploying them in a cluster).\nECR (Docker image repository). + years of AWS experience and knowledge of:\nTerraform and GitLab pipeline configuration.\nBuilding and coding backend applications and/or models using Spring/Spring Boot framework.\nSecurity Clearance Level: Public Trust.\nPreferred Skills:\nOpenTelemetry.\nGrafana.\nPrometheus.\nSONAR.\nJSON, XML data formats.\nSelenium Testing Framework.\nBash/PowerShell.\nExperience with Okta.\nLocation: Remote position.
