This role will assist with research and documentation of tax reporting requirements and participate in reporting processes to ensure compliance. The Analyst will support data collection for tax planning, compliance, and audit preparation. Responsibilities also include assisting with the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns and collaborating with senior finance and company leadership as needed to complete key functions.Duties & Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following:Prepare tax workpapers supporting the filing of US federal, state, fuel tax, and sales and use tax returnsPrepare, review, and post journal entries and process related tax paymentsAssist with monthly tax account reconciliations, including fuel tax and sales and use tax accountsMonitor, research, and analyze tax issues, including fuel tax and sales and use tax, to stay current on applicable laws, regulations, and rulingsEnsure compliance with internal controls over financial reportingAssist in coordinating company filings during tax audits by responding to government information and document requestsRespond to notices of proposed adjustments and maintain accounting and tax records to support filed returns and financial statement entries during auditsRecommended ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Tax preferredAt least 3 to 7+ years of US tax experience in public accounting and or corporate tax, including US indirect taxHands on experience with sales and use tax is requiredExperience with fuel tax is a plusExperience with SAP is a plusPrevious airline, aviation, or petroleum industry experience preferredWell organized with strong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlinesAbility to handle confidential information
