ODS is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and also has offices/plants in Texas and North Carolina centrally located to serve clients across the country.The Shipping Expeditor I is responsible for packaging, weighing and labeling of printed material for shipping to clients by mail, FedEx, DHL or UPS indicated by instructions.Duties and Responsibilities:Assembles specified number of items and cartons for each addressee as indicated by instructionsAttaches identifying information and shipping instructions onto packagesProvides required reports and shipping logsProcesses outgoing shipments into computerized shipping systemsCommunicates with the Shipping Manager about the company's needs and requirementsCreates and ensures the accuracy of packing slipsPerforms routine quality control functions on print and postal report files created to ensure that specifications are correct and items are shipped on timeSafely operates lift trucks or other material handling equipment and pallet jacks to move, convey or hoist shipmentsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications & Requirements:High School graduate, or completion of GED preferredThis position requires an individual who is technically and mechanically oriented. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as operation and maintenance instructionsPrior experience operating an electrical pallet jack and forklift truck is a plusMust posess basic computer and excel knowledgeExperience with BCC Software/Mail Manager and understanding of mail barcodes, mail house, presort and co-mingling a plusKnowledge of computer shipping systems or basic software aptitude a plusExperience with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and business mail entry requirements a plusForklift certified desiredMeticulous administrative and organizational skillsExperience in the printing industry a plus but not requiredAble to listen effectively and adapt to changing conditionsBe flexible with hours and work daysWorking Conditions:Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.
