The individual must be able to thrive in a fast paced news environment while maintaining the highest quality of broadcast standards.Responsibilities would include but not limited to:Provide frontline, hands-on support for digital media operations, service multiple internal clients (news, promotions) using a customer service approachManage external client relationships with other broadcast and media companiesResponsible for the day-to-day management of Digital Media on shared serversIngest feeds, transfer file based media and set up protection and private files in a media asset management systemResponsible for maintaining and purging file systemsOversee media pushed into on-air playback systemsDaily maintenance and trouble reporting on newsroom system. Provide system use instructions to Editors, Producers, and other usersResponsible for acquisitions of ENG/SNG and satellite feeds ensuring good quality signalPerform quality control checks on all feeds and live shotsWrite technical Standard Operating Procedures as neededQualificationsBasic Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of broadcast operations experience including familiarity with/use of non-linear post production software, media asset management software (administrative), an understanding of broadcast signals, broadcast video playback systems, media archival systemsExperience supporting Windows operating environmentExperience ingesting Satellite and Microwave feeds (ENG/SNG)Experience providing basic front line end user support for the DALET newsroom computer/editing systemExperience working with digital media file formats, such as .XML, .MOV, .DV, .PSD, etc., and file conversionEligibility Requirements: Applicants must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be consideredMust be willing to work in San Jose, CAMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust have a valid Driver’s LicenseMust be available to evenings, weekends and holidaysDesired Characteristics:Positive attitude and a team playerAbility to quickly understand and assess opportunities and/or problems and respond with creative ideas and solutionsAbility to meet deadlines and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrentlyMake priority decisions under deadlinesStrong interpersonal skillsAdditional Requirements:Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
