Biblical and Theological Studies Student Assistant - Dr. Madueme 26/27

This position is for the full academic year, open only to enrolled upperclassmen. Freshmen are not eligible to apply for this position.Expected hours of work per week : 5-10 hours per weekWork Location & Hours : Sanderson; Mon-Fri 8am - 11:30pm; Sat 8am-10pmQualifications for Position:Current Covenant College studentSophomore, Junior, or Senior standingMinimum 3.00 GPAAdequate knowledge of the methods of researchStrong reading and writing skillsAble to work independentlyStrong character and integrityBiblical & Theological Studies major/minor preferredInterest in theology, biblical studies, church history, vocational ministry, seminary, etc. preferredExpected Duties and Responsibilities: Grade objective portions of exams, quizzes, reading assignments, etc.Carry out basic research for professors' writing projectsEdit writing materials by professorsTutor other studentsProctor exams, quizzes, etc. as neededPhotocopy essays, books, handouts, etc. as neededRevise/update previous exams, quizzes, notes, etc.Audit faculty supervisor's coursesRegularly report to the faculty supervisorExpected hours per week will be negotiated with the studentResume Skills Development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development - this work study position will prepare students interested in a wide range of ministry positions after college; it is also especially suitable for students who are interested in pursuing a seminar or graduate school.Communication - someone who will occasionally communicate with fellow BTS majors about upcoming BTS Fellowship events.Critical Thinking - someone who is comfortable reading and engaging with scholarly work (on those occasions where the professor is requesting critical feedback on writing projects)Global Literacy - not applicableProfessionalism - someone who understands appropriate etiquette when communicating via email with fellow students and helps organize occasional events.Technology - someone who is comfortable working with Covenant's Canvas system.
