Senior Manager, Procurement – Direct MaterialsIndustry: Life Sciences / Advanced ManufacturingA global leader in life sciences manufacturing and advanced technologies is seeking a Senior Manager, Purchasing to support a high-growth division responsible for critical manufacturing operations.This role will partner closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain leadership to drive procurement strategy across direct materials categories, including plastics, injection molded components, and packaging. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring supply continuity, supplier performance, cost optimization, and operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites.This is a highly visible position within the organization, offering the opportunity to influence multi-year sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships within a complex global supply chain.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute procurement and category strategies aligned with divisional and operational objectivesPartner with manufacturing sites to ensure supply continuity, quality, and cost performance across direct materialsLead global sourcing initiatives from strategy development through supplier selection and contract negotiationManage supplier performance through key metrics including OTIF, quality, cost savings, and operational performanceDrive supplier relationship management programs and act as a key escalation point for supply challengesDeliver value through cost reduction initiatives, supplier consolidation, and process optimizationSupport cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, quality, and supply chainUtilize sourcing tools and systems to support RFI, RFQ, and strategic sourcing processesMentor and support procurement team members while driving continuous improvement initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)10+ years of procurement or category management experience in manufacturing environmentsStrong experience sourcing direct materials, ideally including plastics, injection molded components, or packagingProven experience leading global sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiationsDemonstrated ability to deliver cost savings and supplier performance improvementsExperience working within complex multinational manufacturing organizationsFamiliarity with strategic sourcing tools (e.g., Ariba or similar platforms)Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience sourcing materials used in regulated manufacturing environmentsBackground in life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, or packagingExposure to supplier quality management and low-cost country sourcingWhat This Role OffersOpportunity to shape procurement strategy within a global, innovation-driven organizationHigh level of collaboration with senior leadership and global supply chain teamsCompetitive compensation package including bonus and comprehensive benefitsStrong career development opportunities within a growing global businessIf you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please apply or contact us directly for a confidential discussion.
