The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams to deliver excellence through Automotive Architecture, Body, and Component Design. They will assist the design team in creating and defining the visual appeal of Slate products. The ideal candidate will be proficient at creating unique and compelling designs that propel the brand forward blending functional innovation with aesthetic appeal.\n\nThe responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer include but are not limited to the following:\n\nPromote, and advise stakeholders on, the user-centric approach and apply automotive design methodologies to validate and inform design decisions.\nBuild relationships with key stakeholders, Brand, Commercial, Engineering and Manufacturing teams.\nUtilize software skills in latest versions of Automotive Design and 2D/3D development tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite / Alias, Blender, etc.\nDesign and create a wide variety of Exterior Design proposals based on project definitions and requests from individual stakeholders, including Sketches, Digital Models, Visual Illustrations, prototypes, animations, etc.\nVisual design of Component and customization systems, products, services, and API – responsive or adaptive for Aftermarket Strategies\nCreate research-driven, data-informed designs that meet users’ needs and their motivations.\nPerforms closed-loop validation of Exterior Design with Product development teams and key partners.\nVisually define ideas, design decisions, and appearance recommendations to senior level stakeholders\n\nWhat you bring to the team:\nBachelor’s degree in automotive or industrial Design, or comparable degree\n5 years professional work experience, as an automotive designer, Industrial designer, or similar transportation and vehicle related role\nAn excellent command of visual communication and evaluation along with a thorough knowledge of 2d illustration and 3d development tools is a must\nAbility to write verbal descriptions of automotive design\nFamiliarity of rapid prototyping tools (i.e., Milling, 3d printing etc.)\nExhibit passion for emerging technologies, related to vehicle design.\nExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills\nProficient in both writing and speaking the English language\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in automotive or industrial Design.\nAbility to generate 3D digital sketch models via Alias or Blender\nSuccessfully contributing to the completion of a production program is a plus\nExperience in automotive, or consumer products industries in the capacity of design or ergonomic related fields\nExperience working within an agile development process\nProficient in various design disciplines.
