This role serves as the technical lead for equipment-related activities, partnering closely with technicians, vendors, process engineers, and operations teams to maximize tool uptime, improve process stability, and support production goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with semiconductor manufacturing experience who can independently troubleshoot complex equipment issues, analyze performance data, lead improvement initiatives, and mentor maintenance technicians.\n\nDuties / Responsibilities:\n\nEstablish and maintain equipment engineering and maintenance processes, procedures, and documentation in accordance with quality standards.\nLead equipment reliability and uptime efforts across semiconductor manufacturing operations.\nPerform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment, process, and reliability issues.\nReview and respond to OCAPs, FDC (Fault Detection & Classification) signals, tool alarms, and blocked modules on a daily basis.\nDevelop maintenance execution plans and coordinate activities with maintenance technicians and equipment vendors.\nAnalyze tool trace data, performance metrics, and process trends to proactively identify and address equipment concerns.\nDefine, monitor, and improve equipment performance KPIs, including uptime, utilization, reliability, and maintenance effectiveness.\nSupport equipment installation, qualification, commissioning, upgrades, and optimization activities.\nDrive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and equipment performance initiatives.\nCreate training materials and provide hands-on training for maintenance technicians and new engineers.\nServe as the primary escalation point for equipment-related technical issues.\nCollaborate closely with suppliers and service providers to resolve equipment issues and improve tool performance.\nSupport Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality initiatives while maintaining compliance with all procedures.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n3+ years of semiconductor manufacturing or equipment engineering experience.\nExperience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment in one or more of the following areas:\nThin Films\nWet & Dry Etch\nPhotolithography\nCMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization)\nExperience troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process systems.\nExperience interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, utility drawings, and technical documentation.\nStrong analytical and statistical problem-solving skills.\nAbility to interpret and generate safety procedures, maintenance instructions, operating procedures, and technical documentation.\n\nTechnical Skills\n\nStrong understanding of semiconductor fabrication, packaging, and manufacturing processes.\nExperience with semiconductor equipment installation, qualification, maintenance, and optimization.\nFamiliarity with: MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), SPC (Statistical Process Control), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)\nExperience with equipment monitoring systems, trace data analysis, and process control methodologies.\nKnowledge of laboratory, chemical, gas delivery, and cleanroom safety procedures.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering reporting tools.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.\n\nAdditional Preferred Skills:\n\n5+ years of semiconductor manufacturing or equipment engineering experience.\nExperience working in semiconductor fabrication facilities and cleanroom environments.\nExperience with equipment installations, startup, and commissioning projects.\nKnowledge of semiconductor process integration and equipment reliability best practices.\nExperience mentoring maintenance technicians or leading technical initiatives.\nExperience driving continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.\n\nLeadership & Professional Skills\n\nStrong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.\nProven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.\nExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.\nStrategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.\nStrong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.\nAbility to effectively communicate with management, engineers, technicians, vendors, and contractors.\nStrong customer focus and ownership mentality.\nAbility to work effectively in cross-functional and multi-site environments.\nFlexible and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment.\nReliable attendance and commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.\n\nWork Conditions & Physical Requirements\n\nWork in a fully gowned cleanroom environment.\nRequired PPE includes safety glasses, face shield, gloves, and steel-toe shoes.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and work with manufacturing equipment throughout the shift.\nFrequent handling of tools, components, and manufacturing equipment.\nAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 45 lbs.\nFlexible to work alternate shifts based on business needs.\nPosition requires a high level of daily physical activity and movement.\n\nQuantum Computing Inc.
