In this individual contributor role, you will help manage the enterprise data catalog, improve data quality, identify and remediate data duplication, and support data stewardship, classification, and compliance efforts aligned to DoD, NIST, and FedRAMP requirements. You will collaborate closely with data stewards, analysts, and engineering teams to ensure the organization's data assets are trusted, well-documented, and properly governed.\nResponsibilities\nServe as a contributing member of an established data governance team supporting enterprise data initiatives\nAdminister, maintain, and enhance the enterprise data catalog, ensuring accurate and up-to-date metadata\nDevelop and maintain metadata, data lineage, and business glossary content to improve data discoverability and understanding\nIdentify instances of data duplication and redundancy, and design and implement solutions to remediate them\nSupport master data management (MDM) efforts to establish authoritative, trusted data sources\nMonitor and measure data quality, identify anomalies, and coordinate remediation activities\nAssist in the development, documentation, and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures\nCoordinate with data stewards across business and technical teams to promote consistent data practices\nSupport data governance councils and working groups, including preparing materials and tracking action items\nSupport data classification, tagging, and handling practices in accordance with DoD and NIST requirements\nAssist with data privacy and compliance activities, including regulatory and audit reporting\nCollaborate with application, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure data assets are properly governed\nProduce reports, dashboards, and metrics to communicate data governance progress and data quality status\nRequirements:\nBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field\nMinimum 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related data-focused role\nWorking knowledge of data governance concepts, including data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship\nExperience with data cataloging and/or metadata management practices\nProficiency writing and interpreting SQL queries\nFamiliarity with DoD and NIST data handling, classification, and compliance requirements\nStrong analytical, documentation, and communication skills\nAbility to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team\nActive Security Clearance required\nDoD 8570 Level II/III certification required\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with a data catalog or data governance platform (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview)\nExperience supporting master data management (MDM) initiatives\nExperience identifying and remediating data duplication and data quality issues\nFamiliarity with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK\nExperience in a FedRAMP-authorized or cloud environment\nExperience supporting data privacy and regulatory compliance efforts\nTechnical Skills\nSQL (query development and data analysis)\nObject storage technologies (e.g., Amazon S3)\nMicrosoft Power BI (reporting and dashboarding)\nArmy Vantage (Palantir)\nData catalog and metadata management concepts\nData quality profiling and remediation\nData classification, tagging, and lineage\nMaster data management (MDM) concepts\nIPTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
