The Document Management team owns how documents work across Docusign; how they are stored, processed, protected, and managed throughout their lifecycle, at global scale. We are hiring a Software Engineer in Seattle to help us take that on. This is a role for someone who wants hard, high-impact problems: Tier-0 services that many products depend on, large and growing data volumes, and the opportunity to shape how we bring AI-native approaches to documents. You will own ambiguous problems end to end and see your work make a difference quickly.\n\nThis position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering.\n\nResponsibility\n\nDesign, build, and operate backend services that power documents at Docusign at global scale\n\nOwn features end to end, design, implementation, deployment, and operations\n\nContribute to the reliability, performance, and security of Tier-0 services that other teams depend on\n\nApply AI-native development practices in how you build, and help build AI-powered capabilities on top of our documents\n\nParticipate in design and code reviews with a focus on resilience and graceful failure, not just functionality\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues across environments, and improve alerting, dashboards, and operational runbooks\n\nCollaborate across teams and help raise the engineering bar\n\nJob Designation\n\nHybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law.\n\nWhat you bring\n\nBasic\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend services\n\nExperience developing microservices with C#\n\nExperience operating high-availability services where uptime, security, and correctness are non-negotiable\n\nExperience with large-scale, distributed systems\n\nExperience owning and solving complex problems end-to-end\n\nPreferred\n\nExperience operating Tier-0 or mission-critical services at large, global scale\n\nAI-native development experience - using AI tools in your day-to-day workflow and/or building AI-powered product features\n\nExperience with cloud platforms (Azure), microservices, and REST API design\n\nExperience with high data volumes, storage systems, or content/document processing\n\nExperience with observability tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and on-call operations\n\nWage Transparency\n\nPay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.\n\nBased on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:\n\nWashington: $146,400.00 - $206,775.00 base salary\n\nThis role is also eligible for the following:\n\nBonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals.
