This role is a great fit for someone who wants stability, responsibility, and a long-term home with a growing company.Position SummaryThe Rear Load Driver is responsible for servicing residential routes, often working alongside helpers to manually collect waste. This role requires physical endurance, strong coordination, and the ability to maintain pace and efficiency in high-volume residential environments.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Vehicle OperationDemonstrate strong vehicle control, including backing, turning, and maneuvering in tight or congested environmentsComply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and proceduresPerform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsUtilize safe backing procedures, including coordination with helpersReport unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediatelyRoute Execution & ProductivityComplete routes safely, on time, and in accordance with service and productivity expectationsMaintain route pace in high-volume environmentsFollow route sheets and dispatcher instructionsManual Collection & Team CoordinationEnsure helpers follow safe work practices and company procedures while on routeWork closely with helpers to collect and load waste into the truckAssist with loading waste when neededEnsure safe coordination with helpers, especially during backing operationsCustomer Service & Site StandardsProvide courteous service to residential customersEnsure streets and collection areas are left clean and free of debrisReport service issues or missed pickupsRepresent the company professionally at all times while in the fieldEquipment Operation & Waste HandlingOperate packer controls and loading mechanisms safelyIdentify and report unacceptable or hazardous wasteDocumentation & CommunicationComplete DVIRs, route sheets, and required documentationMaintain communication with dispatch throughout the shiftSafety & Compliance ExpectationsDrivers are responsible for safe execution of their duties. The Safety Department provides training, standards, and oversight.
