Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated , eager to learn and grow Podiatrist to join our thriving, growth focused and patient centered practiced. Prefer a 1099 independent contractor. Ideal for an established provider or a new grad seeking 1-2 days/week with emphasis on work life balance. Daily base rate plus competitive compensation. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive foot and ankle care, utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques. This role involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and performing procedures to improve patient mobility and quality of life. The Podiatrist will work in a clinical setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR systems), medical imaging, and specialized procedures such as wound care and surgical interventions is highly valued. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough clinical evaluations of patients presenting foot and ankle conditions
Develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments
Perform surgical procedures, including minor foot surgeries and wound debridement
Utilize medical imaging techniques such as CT scans, radiography, and ultrasound for diagnosis
Manage post-operative care, including suturing, wound management, and rehabilitation guidance
Prescribe medications and therapies aligned with best practices in podiatric medicine
Educate patients on foot health, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications
Document patient encounters accurately within EMR/EHR systems following HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with specialists in orthopedics, endocrinology, vascular interventional radiology, and other disciplines as needed
Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance podiatric treatment options
Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during procedures
Requirements
Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution
Valid state licensure to practice podiatry
Proven experience with medical office systems, EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic or similar software
Knowledge of diagnostic radiology including X-ray interpretation and medical imaging modalities like CT scans
Familiarity with wound care management, surgical suturing, and post-operative care procedures
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology relevant to podiatry
Ability to perform clinical examinations, patient assessments, and develop effective care plans
Experience working in outpatient or hospital settings with exposure to inpatient care environments is preferred
Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in diabetic limb salvage or surgical techniques are advantageous
Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
