{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d53ed5bb3d2bee2f7396c7f2","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d53ed5bb3d2bee2f7396c7f2","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d53ed5bb3d2bee2f7396c7f2","title":"Gardener","description":"SJS Executives is seeking experienced Gardeners for a possible upcoming contract in MontgomeryandTuskegee, Alabama supporting ongoing maintenance operations at two federal medical facilities.\r\n***Position Contingent upon Award***\r\nSJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.\r\nThe pay for this position is expected to be$20.18. per hour plus an additional $5.09/hr for Health and Welfare totaling$25.27/hr.The benefits are 11 paid federal holidays per year, and 56 hours of annual accrued Sick Leave (equivalent to 7 paid days off).\r\nResponsibilities will include:\r\nMaintain landscaped areas, lawns, and exterior grounds at federal facilities.\r\nUse blowers to clean parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and other exterior areas.\r\nCollect and dispose of trash from outdoor receptacles.\r\nPerform weed trimming and vegetation control as needed.\r\nInstall pine straw, mulch, and prepare flower beds for seasonal planting and maintenance.\r\nRemove leaves and debris from sidewalks, roadways, lawns, and other exterior surfaces.\r\nMow grass using push lawn mowers and other landscaping equipment.\r\nTrim hedges, shrubs, and other ornamental landscaping to maintain a professional appearance.\r\nOperate landscaping tools and equipment safely while following established safety procedures.\r\nQualifications:\r\nIn accordance with federal regulations, possession of a validReal IDis a requirement for this position.\r\nMinimum of 3 years of grounds maintenance, landscaping, or gardening experience.\r\nExperience operating landscaping equipment including blowers, push mowers, weed trimmers, and hedge trimmers.\r\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.\r\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including temperatures exceeding 100F.\r\nAbility to work on ladders, at heights, and in confined spaces when required.\r\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.\r\nAbility to work in noisy environments while wearing appropriate hearing protection.\r\nAbility to work safely around dust, dirt, machinery, chemicals, oils, fumes, and other occupational hazards.\r\nAbility to wear an OSHA-approved respirator when required and successfully complete required fit testing.\r\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, eye protection, hearing protection, and approved face protection.\r\nOSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred.\r\nAbility to comply with all applicable federal safety regulations and workplace policies.\r\nMust be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.\r\nSJS Executives pay structure reflects a sincere effort to reward employees in accordance with factors such as, but not limited to years of experience, education, skills, budget constraints, and internal equity considerations, ensuring a fair and competitive compensation package.
