The program enhances students' understanding of warfighting, expeditionary operations, Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) employment, and operational planning while strengthening critical thinking and decision-making skills.\r\nAdjunct Faculty work closely with Regional Chief Instructors (RCIs) to provide instruction, mentorship, and academic support to U.S. military personnel, Department of Defense civilians, and interagency personnel enrolled in EWSDEP seminars. Faculty are responsible for facilitating discussions, grading seminar contributions and written assignments, mentoring students, and fostering critical thinking through discussion-based learning.\r\nThe EWSDEP is designed to be completed over a two-year period and consists of four courses delivered in resident, synchronous online, and asynchronous online formats. This position is contingent upon contract award.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nCoordinate with Regional Chief Instructors to deliver instruction using approved CDET curricula, faculty guides, and Learning Support System (LSS) resources.\r\nConduct Socratic-style seminars in classroom, synchronous online, and asynchronous online learning environments.\r\nLead seminar cohorts and facilitate professional discussions that encourage critical thinking and intellectual development.\r\nMentor students and provide academic and professional guidance throughout the program.\r\nGrade student papers, essays, planning products, seminar contributions, and other course requirements using approved CDET grading rubrics.\r\nProvide remediation and additional instruction to students who fail examinations or require additional academic support.\r\nEnforce CDET academic integrity standards and ensure compliance with testing security requirements.\r\nSupport student enrollment within Learning Support Systems (LSS) and provide basic student assistance related to course access and participation.\r\nMaintain accurate grading records, course documentation, and student performance data.\r\nComplete faculty End-of-Course (EOC) surveys and encourage student participation in course assessments.\r\nParticipate in annual faculty development activities as directed by the Regional Director.\r\nAttend the annual CDET Faculty Workshop in Quantico, Virginia, typically held during the summer months.\r\nSuccessfully complete required Faculty Orientation and ongoing CDET faculty certification requirements.\r\nEnsure compliance with Marine Corps University academic standards and contractual requirements.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nU.S. Marine Corps Field Grade Officer (Major or above) or selectee for promotion to Major.\r\nGraduate of the U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (resident, distance education, or blended seminar program).\r\nGraduate of Career Level School (CLS), Intermediate Level School (ILS), Staff Academy Workshop (SAW), Tactical Level School (TLS), or equivalent Professional Military Education program.\r\nBachelor's degree from an accredited institution.\r\nExperience serving as a Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Operations Officer, or Primary Staff Officer at the battalion, squadron, or higher level.\r\nTeaching or instructional experience, preferably utilizing Socratic teaching methods.\r\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nMaster's degree from an accredited institution with emphasis in Military History, American History, European History, Diplomatic History, Strategic Studies, International Relations, National Security Studies, or a related field.\r\nGraduate of the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College (resident, distance education, or blended seminar program) or other Intermediate Level School.\r\nOperational planning experience within Marine Corps or Joint organizations.\r\nExperience with onsite, synchronous online, and asynchronous online instruction.\r\nExperience utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Support Systems (LSS), such as Moodle.\r\nPrior experience supporting Professional Military Education (PME) programs.\r\nExperience mentoring military officers or adult learners.\r\nSecurity Requirements\r\nU.S. Citizenship required.\r\nActive Secret clearance (Tier 3 Investigation) required.\r\nAbility to maintain eligibility for continued access to Government facilities and systems.\r\nWork Schedule\r\nInstruction is generally conducted outside normal duty hours.\r\nFaculty assignments vary based on regional enrollment and seminar demand.\r\nCourses may be delivered in resident, synchronous online, or asynchronous online formats.\r\nThis document is not intended to cover orcontaina comprehensive listing of all job-related activities, duties or responsibilities that arerequiredofthe employee.
