This position requires reliability, flexibility, steady effort, and a team-first mindset. Crew Technicians are expected to help wherever needed to keep production moving safely, efficiently, and professionally.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things right, and wants to grow their skills in paving and equipment operation.What This Job Requires (Please Read Carefully)This role is a fit for someone who:Shows up consistently and on timeWorks steadily without needing to be chasedIs willing to shovel, rake, lute, clean, prep, seal, and operate equipment as neededAccepts direction and correction professionallyKeeps phone use limited to breaks onlyContributes positively to crew moraleIf you are looking for a single-task role, limited responsibility, or frequent call-outs, this position is not a fit.Core ResponsibilitiesGeneral Paving & Site DutiesFollow instructions given by the foreman and production leadershipPlace hot mix asphalt using shovels, lutes, and other hand toolsShovel, rake, sweep, and level asphalt, gravel, and dirtAssist with loading and unloading materialsMaintain a clean and organized jobsite throughout the daySet up and maintain traffic control as requiredAssist with layout, measurements, and grade control as directedEquipment Operation (Training Provided)Operate commercial paving equipment such as:RollersSkid-steers with various attachments (broom, miller, bucket, etc.)Sweepers and other small equipmentPerform basic equipment checks and cleaningAssist with equipment maintenance as directedSite Preparation & RepairPrepare parking lots, driveways, and roads for pavingClean, sweep, blow, and remove debrisAssist with patching and repair workUse hand tools such as sledgehammers, picks, and shovelsAssist with excavation and prep using skid-steers or mini excavators (as trained)Sealcoating & Maintenance SupportClean parking lots prior to sealingAssist with crack cleaning and crack fillingApply sealcoat using hand squeegeesAssist with striping operations as neededAttendance, Conduct & Expectations (Non-Negotiable)Reliable attendance is requiredExcessive call-outs are not acceptablePhone use is limited to designated breaksGambling, substances, or distractions on the job are prohibitedComplaining, gossip, or negative talk on the jobsite is not toleratedRespect for foremen, coworkers, equipment, and the public is requiredSafety is mandatory at all timesSkills & QualificationsEducation & ExperiencePrior outdoor labor experience requiredExperience working in extreme heat and cold preferredAsphalt or construction experience is a plus, but not requiredLicensingValid driver's license in good standing requiredCDL is a plus, not requiredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamAbility to identify surface defects and quality issuesAbility to communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisorsAbility to learn new tasks and equipmentBasic math skills and ability to read a tape measureAbility to use Google Maps and app-based timekeeping systemsStrong situational awareness and safety focusPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry 50–90 lbs regularlyAbility to bend, crouch, kneel, and use hand toolsAbility to stand or walk for long periods without excessive fatigueAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to maintain alertness around equipment, coworkers, and trafficTravel RequirementsAvailability for 1–3 weeks of travel per season may be requiredWhat Success Looks Like HereYou stay productive without being askedYou help wherever neededYou show steady improvement over timeYou are someone others want on their crewYou contribute to a professional, drama-free jobsite
