{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d4f8ced8cb2f30142e935cbb","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d4f8ced8cb2f30142e935cbb","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d4f8ced8cb2f30142e935cbb","title":"Structural Engineer III","description":"Job Purpose\n\nTo provide comprehensive engineering design development and support for the Company.\n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\n\nTechnical Responsibilities:\nPlan, schedule, and coordinate the preparation of design drawings with Project Management, Estimating, and Drafting departments to produce signed and sealed construction plans.\nResearch and investigate information for design analysis and drawing production.\nAnalyze structures using both finite element and classical methods considering all applicable load conditions and code requirements.\nDevelop, perform, and prepare designs and drawings for the following items using various materials including as concrete, carbon fiber, steel, fiberglass, and timber.\nTwo dimensional and three-dimensional structures.\nOne- and two-way slabs.\nPlate and shell structures.\nScaffold and shoring formwork; and\nPrestressed elements using single-wire and strand.\nPrepare and review various drawings and other visual aids.\nReview and check other design staff’s work.\nRespond to general inquiries.\n\nStandards:\n\nDevelop and maintain standard Company design sheets and details\nDevelop programming for prestressed concrete tank, formwork, and associated structure applications.\nc. Edit and update specifications for conformity and quality assurance.\n\nLeadership Responsibilities:\n\na. Active participation in department meetings and completion of assigned department responsibilities.\nb. Prepare and/or review scope, budget, and assignments for engineering designs.\nc. Develop and lead inter-company design presentations.\n4. Professional Conduct/Development:\na. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education including reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and educational workshops at the direction of the department manager.\nb. Participate in applicable code and standard organizations including ACI, AWWA, or ASCE at the direction of the department manager.\nc. Maintain and enhance the Company’s image through personal demeanor and methods of conducting business.\n\n5. Other duties as assigned and seasonal projects as necessary.\n\nEssential Requirements:\n\nHigh motivation level and strong attention to detail.\nPossess effective oral and written communication skills.\nEffective problem solving and strong mathematical skills.\nAbility to work in a team environment.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nB.S. Degree Civil Engineering or similar ABET/EAC accredited program.\nLicensed Professional Engineer with 4+ years signing and sealing projects.\n5 - 9 years of experience in structural engineering design and comprehensive knowledge of structural design standards and codes.\nProficient in MS Office suite\nProficiency in Mathcad, AutoCAD and design software such as Staad Pro, NX Nastran, or other finite element analysis program.\nFinite Element experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nProficient in NX Nastran.\nVisual Studio programming skills.\nMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering or similar ABET/EAC accredited program.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nPrimarily office.\nOccasional travel will be required.\nExtended hours will be required as necessary to meet deadlines\nEEO Statement: CROM, LLC is an equal employment opportunity employer who may provide reasonable accommodation to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
