This position will report directly to the Edge HW Engineering Manager.\n\nEssential Responsibilities:\n\nOwn the design, development, field validation, and deployment for Verra's complex hardware / firmware systems.\nBe (or become) a subject matter expert in the field of camera imaging, radar systems, and other embedded sensing devices.\nWork alongside hardware Product team to develop detailed technical specifications from product requirements.\nDevelop, execute and own overall validation test plans against technical specifications and field requirements.\nPerform field failure analysis, including root cause and corrective action for both hardware and firmware systems.\nWork closely with 3rd party Original Design Manufacturers, collaborating closely with their engineering and technical teams in product development and validation.\nDevelop and perform acceptance testing for hardware / firmware system from 3rd party vendors.\nWork closely with firmware development teams, to drive device performance via understanding of the firmware codebase and configuration.\nDrive and own embedded sensor functionality (including sensor fusion), including but not limited to cameras and radar systems.\nWork closely with commercial and account teams, to ensure customer business rules are met with products in the field.\n\nEssential Skills/Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical or computer engineering or equivalent.\nMinimum 5 years' relevant industry experience in a high-volume consumer electronics system environment is preferred.\nExperience with schematic, PCB physical design using Cadence Concept and Allegro or similar CAD tools\nLab skills: oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, electronic loads, etc.\nAbility to work with firmware codebases, though detailed firmware development skills are not a must\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nDesign experience in digital logic, simulation, power conversion and delivery.\nFamiliarity with RF/wireless concepts a plus.\nExperience with high-speed serial and memory interfaces including signal integrity design and measurement fundamentals.\nCommand line interface and scripting skills.\nSpecific expertise in multiple of the following areas preferred: CPU or GPU microarchitecture, batteries, power management, analog design, audio, wireless, DisplayPort, HDMI, PCIe, Thunderbolt, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, analog sensors, interconnect.\nStatistical data analysis and visualization (ex.
